The question I get before every session:

“What should we wear?”

And honestly — I get it! You want your photos to look timeless, flattering, and full of personality. But here’s the truth: the best outfits are the ones that feel like you.

So let’s make it simple.

🌿 1. Start with neutral, earthy tones

Think soft beige, dusty pinks, olive greens, warm browns, denim blues, and cream tones. These colours photograph beautifully in natural light and blend perfectly with Bathurst’s golden countryside.

They also keep the focus where it should be — on you and your connection.

🧡 2. Add texture, not patterns

Textures like linen, knits, denim, lace, or cord add depth without distraction.

If you love patterns, go for subtle florals or stripes — just avoid heavy logos or loud prints that pull focus.

👗 3. Coordinate, don’t match

You don’t all need to wear the same colour! Instead, build a palette of 3–4 complementary tones. For example:

  • Rust, cream, and olive

  • Denim, tan, and white

  • Soft pink, beige, and charcoal

This gives everyone individuality while keeping the overall look cohesive.

👟 4. Comfort = confidence

If you’re uncomfortable, it shows. Wear something that makes you feel confident, relaxed, and free to move.

Kids should be able to run, laugh, and cuddle without worrying about stiff clothes.

💍 5. Don’t forget the little details

Barefoot works beautifully for outdoor sessions, but if you’re wearing shoes, choose neutral tones that blend in. And consider simple jewellery or hats — they can add personality without overwhelming the look.

🌸 6. Think about your location

Your outfit should complement your setting:

  • Countryside → earthy tones, flowing fabrics

  • Urban → denim, neutrals, or something bold

  • Studio → soft layers, minimal colours

We’ll always chat before your session to make sure your outfits match the vibe.

🕊 7. Most importantly — be yourself

If you’d never wear a flowy dress or fancy hat in real life, don’t start now. Authenticity photographs best. Choose what feels true to you, and I’ll take care of the rest.

Final thoughts

The goal isn’t “perfect outfits” — it’s creating photos that feel warm, cohesive, and real. When you feel comfortable, you’ll look incredible.
