Looking for the perfect spot for your photos? Whether you’re planning a family shoot, engagement session, or branding photos, the Central West is packed with stunning backdrops. Here are some of my favourite Bathurst and Central West locations for photoshoots.

Machattie Park, Bathurst

This iconic park is full of heritage gardens, big old trees, and gorgeous seasonal flowers. It’s perfect for couples, families, or even branding sessions if you want a touch of greenery in town.

Why I love it: Variety! You can get classic garden shots, moody shadows under trees, or light-filled open spaces all in one location.

Sunny Corner State Forest

Tucked away between Bathurst and Lithgow, Sunny Corner offers secluded, natural beauty. Think tall trees, dappled light, and a quiet forest vibe.

Why I love it: It’s private and feels like a hidden adventure — perfect for couples who want candid, intimate photos.

Mayfield Gardens, Oberon

If you’re after something grand and magical, Mayfield delivers. With lakes, stone bridges, and endless greenery, it’s one of the most versatile locations around.

Why I love it: It feels like stepping into Europe without leaving the Central West.

Local Vineyards (Orange & Bathurst)

For a more luxe feel, the vineyards around Orange and Bathurst are perfect. Rows of vines at golden hour = unbeatable.

Why I love it: The light between the vines is always soft and dreamy.

Bathurst CBD Backstreets

Not every shoot has to be in nature! Bathurst’s laneways, murals, and heritage buildings are amazing for a more urban, stylish vibe.

Why I love it: It’s bold, fun, and a little unexpected. Perfect for branding or edgy couple shoots.

Your Own Backyard

Sometimes the best location is personal. A family farm, your home, or a backyard with sentimental value can be the most meaningful backdrop.

Why I love it: These sessions are always unique and deeply connected to your story.

Tips for choosing your location

  • Think about your vibe: rustic, luxe, urban, natural?

  • Consider accessibility (kids, prams, grandparents).

  • Check the light — sunset or early morning is always magic.

  • Pick somewhere that feels like you.

Ready to book your session?

Whether it’s a local park, vineyard, forest, or your own backyard, I’d love to help capture your story in the perfect location.
