When you think about wedding photos, you probably picture the big ones — walking down the aisle, the first kiss, the first dance. And while those are incredible, it’s the little moments that truly tell your story.

As a wedding photographer, those quiet, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it memories are my favourite to capture. They’re real, unplanned, and full of emotion.

Here are a few of the moments that always steal my heart (and yours).

💌 The letter or gift exchange

The quiet moment before the ceremony when you read a handwritten note from your partner? It’s pure emotion. The tears, the smiles, the deep breaths — that’s love in its truest form.

👰 Getting ready with your people

The laughter while doing makeup, the chaos of finding earrings, your mum adjusting your veil — these are the moments that ground you. They’re where anticipation turns into excitement.

🕊 The moments right before you walk down the aisle

The last deep breath. The squeeze of your dad’s hand. The nervous giggle with your bridesmaids. It’s a mix of adrenaline and pure joy — and it deserves to be remembered.

💞 The in-between glances

It’s not always the posed portraits — sometimes it’s the look across the room, the shared laugh during speeches, or the moment you both exhale after the ceremony.

Those are the photos that make your heart ache in the best way.

🍰 The small chaos of reception moments

The wild dance floor moves. The quiet corner chats. The flower girl asleep under the table. The tiny, beautiful bits of real life happening around you — that’s where the soul of your day lives.

🌸 The quiet after the storm

When the music fades and it’s just the two of you, taking it all in — those are the frames that feel like poetry. The calm after the whirlwind.

Why these moments matter

These photos tell your story — not a Pinterest-perfect version of it. They capture real emotion, connection, and the love that makes your day uniquely yours.

When you look back, it’s not just about how it looked — it’s about how it felt.

Ready to capture your moments?

If you’re planning a wedding in Bathurst or the Central West NSW and want a photographer who captures the in-between, emotional, real stuff — I’d love to be part of your story.
