Canola Season & Orchard Blooms: How to Time Your Dream Country Photoshoot in Cowra & Orange 🌾🌸

Want photos standing in vibrant golden yellow canola fields that stretch as far as the eye can see? Or frolicking through spring orchards covered in delicate pink and white blossoms?
Living in Central West NSW means we get front-row seats to some of the most stunning seasonal blooms in Australia!! But because nature works on its own schedule, timing is EVERYTHING if you want to catch these seasons at their peak.
Here is your ultimate guide to timing your seasonal photoshoot in Cowra, Orange, and surrounds! 👇
1. Golden Canola Season (Cowra & Central West) 🌾✨
When it happens: Late August through September / early October
Best Locations: Cowra, Grenfell, Canowindra, and surrounds
In early spring, the countryside around Cowra turns into a glowing sea of bright yellow canola. It is bright, energetic, and creates photos that literally POP off the screen!
Important note: We always respect local farmers! I work with private properties or accessible public spots so we never damage crops or trespass.
2. Spring Apple & Cherry Blossom Season (Orange NSW) 🌸🍏
When it happens: Late September through October
Best Locations: Orange NSW orchards & local gardens
If you love soft, romantic, whimsical vibes, spring orchard blossoms in Orange are unbeatable! The trees burst into fluffy white and soft pink flowers for just a few short weeks every year.
3. Autumn Golden Leaves (Orange & Bathurst) 🍂🍁
When it happens: April to May
Best Locations: Orange streets/parks & historic Bathurst avenues
If golden yellow leaves, cosy trench coats, and autumnal color palettes are your love language, autumn in Orange and Bathurst is pure magic. The trees turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold!
Don't Miss Out on Seasonal Dates! 🗓️
Because these seasonal windows only last a few weeks each year, dates fill up super fast!
Remember: I cover all of Central West NSW with ZERO travel fees, so whether we're shooting in Cowra's canola or Orange's orchards, let's plan something epic!
