There’s something so effortlessly romantic about a coastal wedding — salty air, sea breeze, and that soft ocean light that makes everything glow. Simone and Chris’ big day at Culburra Beach, just south of Nowra, had all of that and more. Their wedding was pure joy from start to finish — relaxed, heart-filled, and so them.

The Setting
Their ceremony took place on a little grass patch overlooking the ocean, with the waves rolling in just behind them. Guests sat under the open sky, surrounded by sea spray and sunshine as Simone and Chris exchanged vows. It was one of those perfect Australian summer days — bright, warm, and filled with laughter (and maybe a little sunscreen).
After the ceremony, we took a short drive to a nearby boat ramp and pier, where the soft afternoon light reflected off the water. It was calm, romantic, and absolutely magic — a mix of sand, sun, and those soft coastal tones that make every frame feel dreamy.

Their Style
Simone wore a minimalist, modern gown for the ceremony — simple lines, clean details, and such an elegant look against the ocean backdrop. Later that evening, she did a quick dress swap into a halter-neck lace gown that brought all the beach-bride glamour.Chris kept it timeless in neutral tones that tied everything together perfectly.
And I can’t forget their getaway car — a bright orange GT Falcon, adding the perfect pop of colour against the blues and golds of the South Coast.

Capturing the Magic
My absolute favourite part of the day? Running along the beach with them — laughing, moving, using prompts over poses to keep things fun, natural, and quick. Photo fatigue is so real after a long wedding day, and the best thing you can do is keep the energy light and the moments authentic. Every smile, spin, and quick glance between them just felt effortless.
Those are the moments I love most — where connection outweighs posing and the photos tell their story exactly as it happened.

Maddi’s Tips for a Hot Coastal Wedding
If you’re planning a summer or beachside celebration, here’s what I learned from Simone and Chris’ day:
Bring plenty of shade and cold drinks for guests.
Keep a fan or mist bottle handy during prep to stay cool.
Plan an outfit change for comfort later in the day.
And always shoot around golden hour — trust me, the light will make everything glow.
Final Thoughts
Simone and Chris’ wedding was the perfect reminder that beauty lies in simplicity. When you focus on connection, movement, and letting the day flow naturally, the magic always follows.
So if you’re dreaming of a laid-back, sun-soaked coastal wedding like theirs, I’d love to be there to capture every salty, joy-filled moment.
