Last week I travelled to Tumbarumba, NSW for Callum and Tirana’s engagement session, and it was one of those shoots that instantly reminds you why engagement photography is so special.

Relaxed, natural, and full of connection, their session was less about posing and more about simply being together. Even with a bit of wind rolling through, everything felt calm, intimate, and effortlessly them.

Tumbarumba delivered the perfect backdrop for an engagement shoot that felt unhurried, scenic, and beautifully authentic.

Tumbarumba is one of those locations that quietly surprises you. Wide open landscapes, soft natural light, and a slower pace make it ideal for couples who want their engagement photos to feel natural and meaningful.

For Callum and Tirana, we chose a simple, natural location that allowed space to move, talk, and enjoy the moment without distractions. No crowds. No pressure. Just real connection.

This session wasn’t about stiff poses or forced smiles. Instead, we focused on:

• gentle prompts instead of posing

• movement and interaction

• capturing the in-between moments

The result was a gallery full of genuine emotion, laughter, and closeness.

The wind made its presence known during this session, but rather than working against it, we leaned into it. Flowing movement, soft textures, and that slightly cinematic feel added depth and emotion to the photos.

Callum and Tirana were relaxed, present, and completely comfortable with each other, which made photographing them feel effortless. Those quiet glances, shared laughs, and natural moments always end up being the favourites.
