If you’ve never had professional photos taken before, the idea can feel… mildly terrifying. Where do your hands go? Do you smile the whole time? Are you supposed to act romantic on command?
Checkout the gallery here:
Caity & Drew arrived with exactly those nerves. Four years together, getting married in October 2026, totally in love… and absolutely unsure what to do in front of a camera.
So we did the only logical thing. We ran around like idiots. In the best way. 🤍
They chose The Tower Venue for both their engagement session and wedding, and honestly… elite decision. The place is lush, unique, and has this European countryside energy without leaving the Central West. Vine-covered stone walls, tree-lined driveways, olive trees, vineyards, ridiculously green grass… it’s not cookie-cutter wedding venue vibes.
At sunset, the whole place glows.
But the real magic wasn’t the location. It was them finally realising they didn’t have to “perform.”
We did movement-based prompts instead of stiff posing:
Running
Playful chasing
Slingshot walks
Fake “drunk” walks
Play tag
Lots of laughing at absolutely nothing
And suddenly… they relaxed. Not because they learned how to pose, but because they stopped trying to.
That’s the whole point of engagement sessions.
Why Engagement Sessions Are Actually a Big Deal
They’re not just for pretty photos (though yes, you’ll get those too). They’re rehearsal, confidence-building, and a chance to learn how your photographer works before the wedding day pressure hits.
You figure out:
How direction feels
What prompts you like
How much movement vs stillness suits you
How to be yourselves without overthinking
By the end, Caity & Drew weren’t asking “What do we do?”They were just being them.
Hot Take 🔥
Your engagement photographer should ideally be your wedding photographer.
Because this session isn’t just content. It’s relationship building.
You’re learning:
Their communication style
How comfortable you feel around them
Whether their energy matches yours
If their posing feels natural or forced
Building that connection with one photographer, then having someone completely different show up on your wedding day? Not ideal.
Unless you truly can’t book the same person, continuity matters.
